Guide to Safe Scouting

This is essential information for all leaders.

Tour and Activity Plans

The tour and activity plan is a planning tool for best practices to be prepared for safe and fun adventure. Completing the plan may not address all possible challenges, but it can help ensure that appropriate planning has been conducted, that qualified and trained leadership is in place, and that the right equipment is available for the adventure. In addition, the plan helps to organize safe and appropriate transportation to and from an event, and defines driver qualifications and minimum limits of insurance coverage for drivers and vehicles used to transport participants. Please complete and submit this plan at least 21 days in advance (check with your local council) to ensure your council has enough time to review the plan and assist as necessary.

Scout and Leader Achievement Tracking

The Pack 62 website has the tracking functions built in. Click on the Accomplishments link achievements at the top of the page (you must be logged in to see this link). This link is provided for those who wish to track achievements on paper instead. The forms are there, you just have to scroll down to the right section.

Cub Scout Forms

If you can't find the form you are looking for here ... it probably doesn't exist!

Religious Knots

These knots are to commemorate earning the religious award for your faith. These awards are NOT BSA awards; they are awards administered and presented by a church body for education, service, and devotion to faith. The BSA then allows the Scout to wear a knot signifying his completion of that award. Requirements for this award vary from religion to religion. These awards may be earned by Cub Scouts and Den Leaders.

Baloo's Bugle

Baloo's Bugle is a monthly collection of program helps for Cub Scout Leaders. Each month a new edition is published with ideas for the following month's Cub Scouting theme. This site is part of the US Scouting Service Project website.
